Welcome to Nurturing Relationships
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my therapy practice, Nurturing Relationships. Nurturing Relationships has been operating since July 2021 and is based in the south-western area of Adelaide.
I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over 25 years’ experience working with children 0-18 years old and their parents/caregivers. My work history includes working for Department for Child Protection for 6 years, Metropolitan Youth Health Service (formerly The Second Story) for 2 years, CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service) for 12 years and DHS (Department of Human Services) in the Safer Family Services, Family Practitioner program for 3 years.
My Mission
My mission is to provide a high-quality, holistic therapy service for children and parents. The service promotes positive mental health, wellbeing and connection for individuals and families through strengthening relationships and support systems, and healing from mental illness, trauma, grief & loss and relationship difficulties. My support can include psychological therapy as well as general support e.g. case management, advocacy. I recognize that parenthood can be a very challenging life stage and support at this time can promote happy and healthy children and families into the future.
My Expertise
My areas of expertise include parent & child therapy, parent/caregiver support, perinatal (pregnancy & early parenthood) mental health support, childhood trauma therapy, and grief & loss counselling. I have a particular interest in early intervention and working with families of children from the antenatal period through to age 6.
The main therapeutic modalities that I use include, but are not limited to, –
Circle of Security Parenting
Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator
Marte Meo Therapy
Accredited Marte Meo Therapist
Dyadic Parent-Child Therapy
Parallel Parent-Child Narrative & Adult Exploratory Attachment Interview
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Qualified to provide to infants, children and adults
Full member of EMDRAA
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
My Aim
In my aim to provide a high-quality service, I limit the number of clients I take at a time, so that I can provide a responsive service at a frequency and intensity that is desired by the client. I make myself available for phone calls, SMS and emails with clients and those in their support network between sessions, which is generally included in the cost of sessions, unless the demand is significant, where I will negotiate a fee for this support with the client prior to any incurred costs.

Funding options
- Medicare: I hold a Medicare provider number. Eligible clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP, or a referral from a psychiatrist or paediatrician, may be able to claim a partial rebate through Medicare.
- NDIS: I support clients with self-managed or plan-managed NDIS funding (not NDIA‑managed plans).
Agency‑funded support: I can also work with clients who have an agency‑funded service agreement in place (e.g. DCP funding).
- Private payments: Sessions can be paid for privately, and private health insurance rebates may also be available.
Visit types
- I provide a mobile service, by home visit unless arranged otherwise.
- I can meet at playgrounds, cafes or other venues if it is conducive to the provision of therapy to meet the child and/or parent’s needs.
- I provide telehealth services if this is preferred.
- I accept referrals within approximately 10km of Hove. Outside of this area I can provide support but it will incur a travel fee in addition to the consultation fee.

About Me
I’m a therapist who values warmth, honesty, and genuine connection. My work is grounded in listening carefully and supporting people as they make sense of their experiences. Outside of therapy, I enjoy cooking, spending time outdoors hiking, and being with my family. These parts of my life help me stay present and balanced, and they shape the thoughtful, steady approach I bring to my work.
